Your Check Engine light signals both problems that could cause engine failure or a required maintenance interval. OBD scanners and code readers pull trouble codes from the vehicle's computer to help determine what may have caused the light to come on.

  1. Make sure that you have the most current version of Sync loaded into your system. It must be Version 2. In order to get Apply Carplay to work on my 2016 F150 with Sync 3, I also had to upgrade the USB module that my iPhone plugs into for connection.
  2. CodeWeavers’ CrossOver Mac is a paid application that will run Windows programs on Mac. It uses the open-source Wine code to accomplish this, but CrossOver provides a nice graphical interface and focuses on officially supporting popular programs.
  3. MAC OS9: Windows Server 2012 R2 x64: Windows 98: Windows Server 2008 R2 x64: MAC OS8: Support for WinCE. FTDI drivers are available for Windows CE 4.2-5.2, 6.0/7.0.

2. Map your USB device from MacOSX space to CrossOver space, here is the tutorial:

3. Latest version of OSX allow access serial devices only to root. In order to fix it, you need to run the following command in terminal:
>sudo chmod 777 /var/spool/uucp
4. Install FORScan, run it, go to FORScan settings ando do the following changes:
- Change connection type from Auto to COM
Forscan lite app- Change COM port from Auto to COM1 (or whatever you set up in item #2 above)
- Change Maximum response time parameter from 300 to 1000 ms.
