My questions is do I need to set up the limiters in the power amp (PeakX Plus Limiters) to protect the speakers, or should I just leave it alone, watch my levels, and adjust my Gain Controls as necessary (depending on room/venue size).
And if I do need to adjust the limiters, what do I set them to? I have been trying to find some reliable information regarding how to set your power amps limiters based on the speakers you're using, and I'm having a tough time finding information that I can understand. I just want to protect my gear and provide for some longevity and sound quality on a budget.
Side note: The software that allows you to adjust the limiters and other DSP isn't available on Mac which has been frustrating. So I have the 3 front panel buttons to work with. Also, I've left DSP off, because, like I said my setup is : Mixer -> Crown XTi 4002 (set in stereo, DSP off) -> Channel 1 (EV215) Channel 2 (EV215).
My humble thanks
