This is the Chinese version of the Makarov. The gun has grips made by Gustav & Dennis Marschalko of Hungary.
You can tell by the identification by the 56 in the triangle. The Chinese version of the Makarov is known as type 59. These are known as the commercial sporting model, The grip has a thumb rest. The sites are adjustable, with small screws. These are the items needed to make the pistol 'commercial' so they can be imported into the United States.
These pistols are harder to find and might fetch a much higher price. The guns from China are NOT imported any more. The military version ( fixed sites) may bring $1000.00 because it may have been brought back by a US serviceman from overseas. The Sporting model could bring about $300.00 $350.00. Though ......... like anything else deals are out there and if the money situation is right and stars come together you fall into a GREAT deal.
